Object Name Peephole

Description The metal "peep hole" that was in the door of G.A.R. Post 63 located on Mechanic Street in Camden. Post #63 was chartered 26 October 1882 and was named for George S. Cobb, who was killed17 October 1864 near Petersburg, VA. Most fraternal orders had a gate keeper who would communicate with the man inside when a member wanted to enter the lodge. When Post 63 building was torn down, the remains were taken to the Camden dump.
